When I was growing up my mom and my grandma made this all the time. Their recipe consisted of milk and water, a little sugar or honey and cinnamon. Today I’m mixing things up just a bit by adding pumpkin butter for a warm autumn flavor. Pumpkin Swirl Cream of Wheat! Pumpkin Swirl Cream of Wheat! Pumpkin Swirl Cream of Wheat

A delicious warm breakfast treat made with creamy milk and swirled with pumpkin butter, perfect for your fall mornings!

  1. 2 cups HOOD Simply Smart Milk
  2. 1 cup of water
  3. Pinch of salt
  4. 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  5. 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  6. 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  7. 3/4 cup Cream of Wheat
  8. Pumpkin Butter spread
  9. slab of butter
  1. Bring milk and water to a boil and remove from heat.
  2. Season with salt, vanilla extract, cinnamon and granulated sugar.
  3. Gradually whisk in cream of wheat making sure to stir well until smooth and creamy or to desired consistency.
  4. Serve warm in individual bowls with a slab of butter and swirl in pumpkin butter to taste.
  1. Watch carefully when heating milk to prevent from boiling over. For thinner consistency add additional milk to the individual bowls. For thicker cereal let stand for a few minutes.

This breakfast bowl of deliciousness is fantastic and the technique used in this recipe is very similar to cooking grits or polenta, for those of you familiar with these other grains. They too make for great hot breakfasts, just add toppings of your choice. But I’m sticking to the creamy, buttery and warm bowl of farina.
