Our Transitional Kitchen Reveal

Our Transitional Kitchen reveal.

It’s been months since we finished our new kitchen, but you know how it is, life gets in the way. For the most part the lighting hasn’t been totally right because my kitchen faces west. That means I have to wait till the afternoon for good sunlight because typically the morning light is too bright and doesn’t spread evenly throughout the kitchen. We’ve also been having lots of rain this season. Although there were plenty of sunny days in between I regressed to do other things, like taking good outfit photos outside instead…

So here we are. I hope you enjoy what we’ve done. Please be advised there may be a slight overload of pictures! You can take a peek and see what my kitchen looked like before the remodel. My inspiration for a white kitchen was an obvious one. I scoured through Pinterest for ideas on what I could incorporate into my home and came up with a myriad of kitchen designs. I made a list of some favorites for quick reference. No two homes are ever alike and here’s my rendition of a Transitional White Kitchen! Our Transitional Kitchen makeover reveal!Transitional Kitchens mix traditional white cabinetry with modern stainless steel appliances and fixtures. The result is a crisp, clean kitchen with simple yet stylish appeal. My absolute perfect kitchen would’ve had marble countertops but having a large family makes for an incredibly busy kitchen. And I am not kidding when I say that! We chose the less maintenance and super durable surface of granite.

We chose TIMBERLAKE Sierra Vista in Linen cabinetry for our remodel project. The Sierra Vista collection is a high end pick made of solid wood with a sophisticated design, furniture quality mortise-and-tenon construction and extra-wide 3″ frames surrounding a raised center panel. The raised panels and lines design lends a detailed look that works so well with a minimalistic approach.

I picked this fabulous Benjamin Moore London Fog 1541 paint color for the kitchen and I swear it is THE perfect kitchen color out there! It enhances the white cabinetry perfectly while changing subtly with lighting. One afternoon while blasting George Michael favorites my daughter and I made it a fun activity of painting the kitchen together. Our transitional kitchen reveal. In the old kitchen we had large dark chandeliers (you can see here) that at the time were nice but weren’t gonna jive with the new theme. I love to incorporate modern and vintage pieces in my decor and these nickle finish pendant globes lend that exact tone. I found them to be simple and stylish and blended great with the overall design I was aiming for. The pendant collection offers three lights pendants (over the island) and two lights pendants (over the main sink) options. Our Transitional Kitchen reveal! When we originally built the house we designed our kitchen floor plan with a simple but highly functional flow. Because of this we didn’t have to undertake any new construction for the remodel, no walls to remove or put up. We literally ripped everything out and replaced them with new items.

Perhaps the biggest change was installing the large hood over the stove and opening up the cooking area. It has beautiful layers of molding making it quite the statement piece. We also shifted the stove slightly to the left giving me additional prep space on the right. It also made sense to place the two-basket garbage drawer in that area to minimize traffic. Our Transitional Kitchen reveal!Originally we had tumbled two-tone marble tiled backsplash that got hideous over time. Replacing the backsplash with Carrara marble subway tiles was the way to go. We personalized the backsplash behind the stove with a beautiful marble chevron design. We also tiled all the way up the wall surrounding the the cooking area for a complete look.

It’s practical and aesthetically pleasing and closer to the kitchen nook which is perfect for the kids to heat and eat.viscon white graniteTransitional Kitchens decor. Not having stools or chairs by the island continues the clutter free minimalistic look. I don’t mind not having chairs there but the Mr. is completely against it. He rather free up running space for Coco… viscon white granite, transitional kitchensFor a busy kitchen like mine, having double bowl sinks in the main area is a must and I wouldn’t change it for the world. The sink to the right is much larger and deeper than the one to the left, perfect for my bigger cooking items.

The main sink and the bar island sink adorn these gorgeous stainless spouts by KRÄUS from the Oletto collection. In keeping with a minimalistic look a single handle faucet looks perfectly fabulous.viscon white granite, transitional kitchens viscon white granite cuntertops, transitional kitchens I’m in love our new super capacity French door fridge! This thing is insane with so many awesome features. It’s the perfect size for our family and holds items in an incredibly organized fashion.

The gorgeous Amerock handles from the Davenport collection in satin nickel finish were a perfect pick for the cabinetry. I love the simplicity of these handles and how they add another touch of modern vintage accent to the kitchen.viscon white granite countertops, transitional kitchensTransitional Kitchens must haves. I replaced my big old black Keurig with this smaller one and fits perfectly next to the three tier mug stand. The drawer underneath holds all kinds of coffee and wine accessories, tea pots, dessert plates and drinking condiments.Transitional Kitchen reveal! Our Transitional Kitchen reveal!Transitional Kitchen remodel ideas. My Super Easy Strawberry Shortcake recipe will follow soon! The easiest and quickest Strawberry Shortcake!Dress | Bangle | Miller Sandals | YSL lips
